The underlying concept of this settlement is the ecological interaction with the natural conditions in order to create a high quality of living for the new inhabitants and their environment. The overall concept dictates an individual character for each courtyard and the free areas between the buildings and gives them their own identity.

The natural topography is largely retained. Large fountains enrich the water with oxygen thus helping to create an agreeable climate in the new Settlement.

The water is deeper than 3m so ensuring that fish and other creatures can survive the winter. This depth is also necessary to ensure that the water is self-cleaning.

Plants which produce oxygen provide a microclimate between the individual urban buildings, which generates fresh air for the inhabitants. The plants also filter dust pollutants from the air.

Rain water, being a precious commodity, is collected.
